Howard Bentham, on behalf of Clarity Broadcast was the main freelance presenter on BBC Radio 5Live Sports Extra for a number of years hosting coverage of Champions League and Premiership Football, Rugby League and Rugby Union’s major domestic finals as well as People’s Saturday at Wimbledon and Test Match Cricket.
He became the Breakfast Presenter on BBC Hereford & Worcester in April 2005 and built an incredibly loyal and enthusiastic audience in the decade he was at the station.
During Howard's time at BBC H&W, the team won three Radio Academy Gold Awards and his Breakfast Show picked up a Frank Gillard BBC Local Radio Silver Award.
Howard’s love and knowledge of sport also meant he became an integral part of the station’s commentary team for the ball-by-ball coverage of Worcestershire County Cricket Club.
Howard was formerly part of the line-up at BBC Radio Oxford and his team took Silver at the prestigious New York Festivals World's Best Radio Programmes 2015. In addition, his Hometime Show trebled the peak audience figures in its first year.
He has undertaken many on-air projects and challenges. Notably measuring - and then offsetting - his annual carbon footprint which meant he had to oversee the planting of 1000 new trees. He successfully cycled around 300 miles taking his show on the road over five consecutive days raising £9k for charity. He also walked 100 miles in another week of special programmes.
Howard has also presented for many other BBC Local Radio stations as well as commercial stations The Bear 102 in Stratford upon Avon and WABC Classic Gold in Wolverhampton.
